HAITI DISASTER RELIEF

Donations are being accepted for the people of Haiti. Checks should be made to: WEST BROWARD CHURCH OF CHRIST, sent to: 12550 W. Broward Blvd., Plantation, FL 33325, marked-FOR: HAITI DISASTER RELIEF. Church Phone: (954) 475-7172

Our Congregation has the benefit of a well established Missionary-Joe Worndle-working in Haiti with 60 preachers all over Haiti. The funds contributed will be deposited directly to the Joe Worndle Disaster Relief account in Haiti and dispersed to the local congregations by TIMOTHY TEAMS in place in the area.  The TIMOTHY TEAMS are well trained to assist the needy and did an excellent job during the two hurricanes in 2008 in Haiti reaching those even the Red Cross did not.

Ministers and Staff

Bill Goodpasture- Preaching Minister
     Bill Goodpasture has served in the churches of Christ ministry for over 46 years. He is a native of Livingston, Tennessee and attended Livingston Academy. He attended Freed- Hardeman University and graduated from David Lipscomb University with a B. A. in Bible. He continued his studies and graduated in 1989 with a Masters Degree in Bible from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. He has served as the minister in churches in several states. During the 1980's he ministered to the Hermitage Church of Christ in Hermitage, Tennessee, The church grew during that tenure from 730 to over 1,000 members. He most recently served the 400 member Huntington Church of Christ in Huntington, Tennessee.
 
Goodpasture began his ministry at West Broward Church of Christ on November 1, 2004.
 
He is the author of two books:
  1)Studies in I and II Samuel
  2)The Certainty of Those Things - Gospel of Luke
 
    Brother Goodpasture is married to the former Janice Clark. Their union has been blessed 
with two daughters, Karise and Melanee. Janice served as a professor at Lipscomb 
University, University of Tennessee at Martin and Murray State University.
 
Brett Shannon- Youth Minister 
 
 
     Brett Shannon was born is St. Petersburg Florida in 1983. He lived there until he went to college at Ohio Valley University where he graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Bible. While in college Brett served as the Youth Minister at the George Street Church of Christ in Saint Mary’s West Virginia. Also, Brett was a youth intern at the Northwest Church of Christ in St Petersburg Florida from June until December of 2004. On July 29th 2006 he married the love of his life Lydia Birdwell. Together they have been working with the youth at West Broward since June 2006 and are very excited to see how God blesses the church and the youth at West Broward.
